In the fifty-third episode of the Twilight Pwn, John & Fred discuss “The Hunt,” the 84th episode of Rod Serling’s classic television series, The Twilight Zone. Topics include Fred's pulse-pounding retelling of the raccoon hunt, John's apathy towards dogs, and the fine line between rednecks and hillbillies.

Hi, y'all: That was one pert-near perfect pwn cast, to be sure-shootin'! Thanks for sharin' it with us. While I agree with that pastor feller in his letter to Mr. Serling about how this episode misses the theological mark, what I think he shoulda' done said was that Earl Hamner, Jr. built such a story around the wrong proverb altogether. He shoulda' wrote one based on Mark Twain's proverb: "Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in." Now, that's actually Biblically true. Love your podcast, and so glad I somehow found it again (I thought y'all was done after the Jeff Myrtlebank one up until this past week!) Juan

Y'all did a pert-near perfect job with this here pone cast. Nice work. As for the pastor's letter to Serling, I do agree that Hamner and Serling left the Bible in the dust on this one. However, rather than curse the darkness, the good pastor may have lit the proverbial candle by offering Hamner and Serling a far-better proverb to base such a Twilight Zone episode on: Mark Twain once said, "Heaven goes by favor. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in." Amen, in the Twilight Zone.
